What's the weather like?
The weather is always good, incredibly good for being on the european continet. Rain happens mosly in winter and spring.



How cold is the water?
You need a 3/2 mm wetsuit. You can sometimes surf in shorts in August and September.



How are the waves?
Good all year around.




How do I get there?
We are in Carrapateira, in the south of Portugal about 40 km de Lagos,  25 from Aljezur, 15 from Vila do Bispo and 23 from Sagres. We will give you all the details anyway at the time of your booking.



Where's the nearest airport?
Faro is 120 km from the Surf Camp approx., one hour by car, or two hours if you take the train or the bus. Lisbon is 330 km away and it takes nearly 4 hours to come here by bus or train. We can pick you up at the airport for a fee, or you could rent a car. Renting a car is more convenient if you want to be highly mobile. Look at the following links for inexpensive rental cars.

If coming by train, then Lagos is your final destination. There are numerous train connections from Faro to Lagos daily. We can pick you up at the train station in Lagos. Please let us know in advance of your arrival details
Our fees for transfers: Faro Airport: 80 EUR p.p. one way, each additional person  +10 EUR Lagos: 30 EUR p.p. one way, each additional person +5 EUR. Vila do Bispo: 20 EUR p.p. one way, each additional person +5 EUR
 



What should I bring with me to the camp?
A sleeping bag, a torch, towels, and good vibes!!! 
Don´t forget to bring a warm robe for the evenings!.



Are your courses for beginners and people who have never surfed before?
You all are welcome regardless of your surf level: Many of you have never surfed before, some of you want to improve your surf level. The proportion in the Surf Camp is 90% beginners.


 

Surf instruction plan


We assign each surfer to a group with a similar surf level. All our coaches are certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation. The surf lessons can be private at extra cost




Surf instruction levels
Level 1 – Initiation (Surf)

- Ocean knowledge
- Warming up and stretching
- Paddling techniques
- Surfing broken waves
- The “duck-dive” or “Eskimo-roll”

Level 2 - Improvement (Surf)

- Warming up and stretching exercises
- Surfing green unbroken waves (wave approach)
- Initiation to take off, drop, bottom turn and trimming

Level 3 – Advanced

- Initiation to manoeuvres and other advanced techniques
- Advanced wave approach
- Priority techniques (rules when to catch a wave)
